I read so many articles on hopeful subjects pain related! but none rarely materialise to a useful conclusion? imagine to my surprise when in a Sunday newspaper an article that a pill approved by the NHS after all clinical trails were completed. The drug known as (upadacitnib) blocking the signalling pathway that leads to the inflammation which causes the disease. What I would like to know is! would this have the same effect for say Osteoarthritis : Fibromyalgia. Nice have approved the drug. Hermes123.

Says it’s for Rheumatoid arthritis - when methotrexate doesn’t work. Doesn’t mention other diseases, but there were trials for Crohn’s disease in USA......so maybe useful for others.

Link to NICE info-

No need to be sorry......like you I'm always looking for the golden bullet - in my case OA! Plus did have GCA (Giant Cell Arteritis) for 6-ish years. So always interested in new options - so I had a browse.

DorsetLady I too like to keep up with as many factual writing as possible, since suffering from 1969. yes that is it when the men landed on the moon, no operation then I had a twelve year wait for a risky operation, it was in this waiting period that my back problems started and I have been in pain ever since, leaving me with Arthritis, Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia. Had a number of operations plus numerus other treatments like maximum amount of pain relief drugs, injections you name it there is a good chance I have had it, at the age of 82. years I am also a carer for my stroke victim wife and at times the pressure gets to me. Stay safe Hermes.

I don't know how you can do it. I'm 59 and I suffer from debilitating back and neck pain. Some of my problem is arthritis in my back but I have other problems as well. But I don't have to care for anyone and I'm 20 years younger than you are. You're a hero!

Amkoffee : You do not know how I do it! I do not know how I do it half the time. going to bed at night time as I lie down the feeling my spine is broken in two, hemp cream every night all down the left hand side wake in the morning throbbing painful hip a job to walk at first burning painful arthritic finger joints so on and so fourth. Besides being on maximum prescription drugs, been under the care of a number of pain professionals during Covic 19. get so far only yet again to have my treatment cancelled, three times so far quiet expecting the next appointment to be cancelled. totally exhausted but then I have a seven day week looking after my stroke victim wife, life is not easy, all these pictures in retirement sitting on a veranda in a rocking chair snoozing off! that should be me. Hermes.

Here in the US they're also using this drug to treat hair loss from alopecia. It's getting great results. But they're specifically using the brand Xeljanz.
