Hello all, this is my first post and wanted a bit of help. I was diagnosed with widespread OA 6 years ago and wondered whether anyone knows what's happening under my big toe, a couple of months ago it came out of joint on it's own accord on the ball of my foot, this is turn caused it to become badly bruised, the same thing has happened again and now it hasn't gone down, any help with this would be really appreciated.

Hey there! First post too. I'm not medically trained to answer that. See the docs! If there is displacement, then the extra bone tissues may have pushed the joint awry? And if there is bruising, then there is an underlying bleed. OUCH. See your doc SonnyB 😉
Hi SonnyB , thanks for getting in touch and sorry to hear that your toe is bad at the moment.
We'd definitely recommend contacting your GP or a healthcare professional if something has changed that you're concerned about, such as your toe. If you're uncomfortable going to the hospital or surgery then you can ring ahead and they'll be able to advise you further over the phone.
In the meantime, our website has useful resources on pain management that may be helpful while you wait to hear from the healthcare professionals, especially during flare ups.
