Hallo to all those who generously responded to my previous post and offered help and advice. It was very much appreciated. This is a quick update following my appointment yesterday at Scarborough Hospital. having rested my leg which gave way on me on Wednesday evening and not being able to bear any weight on that leg, I was told it is 'wear and tear' rest the leg, gentle stretching and that it wasn't worn enough to have a knee replacement. Sure it is now OA in the left leg which means I have it in both legs now. He was a nice man but ineffective, probably due to the evidence (x-rays showed nothing and neither did blood tests) so I am going to ask my GP if they will refer me for an ultra-sound and I will pay to see the physiotherapists who have been so helpful in the past. Meanwhile I am using all the stuff I have including heat, knee brace and various concoctions...trying to avoid taking tablets. It has eased a lot and I still have the crutches (which the Dr said I could keep) so that will help.

Thanks for all your help and I have taken it all into account. It is good to be able to off-load to others who are empathic and in a similar situation. Best wishes, Denise
