I have had a similar problem - go to your GP and get him/her to take a look - mine turned out to be wax impaction that was sucessfully syringed out with warm water. One golden rule don't stick anything in your ear to try to clear your ear - only makes things worse. I used olive oil drops once a week to keep the wax soft.

Actually arthritis can cause ear problems, there are alot of tiny bones in your ears. I just recently went to have a hearing assessment and the audiologist says that auto immune can cause hearing loss and you can get nodules on the bones in your ears. They recently did a study for Psoriatic arthritis and found that 37% of sufferers had hearing loss compared to 6% that did not have the disease. I am now wearing hearing aids, I have psoriatic arthritis, I am 57 years old. You can look it up online. Just a thought. I agree with others you need to see your GP asap so you can get some pain relief, and find out what is causing it.
