spinal stenosis

As well as waiting for a hip replacement I have recently had an MRI scan and have been diagnosed with spinal stenosis. I vaguely know what this entails but can anyone here give me any tips on how to cope with it. My GP is arranging for me to attend a Pain Clinic.

Thanks Pete. Sometimes I don't know which is worse - the pain in my hip or the one at the bottom of my spine and in my legs. Anyway, always someone much worse off. Hope you are coping well. Best wishes.

Hi Pete, that is very heloful information. In February this year i had stenosis decompression on my left side. I now feel i have Sciatica on my right side. I have terrible leg pain in bed and in the morning when i walk downstairs the pain down my leg is worsening each day. I am currently in Spain till New Year so can't visit a GP. I know i need to keep moving. I already take Pregablin and Baclofen wonder if i should take Paracetamol or Codeine.

Not sure if you can advise.

Thank you.

An 'umbrella ' of pain relief using a combination of tablets will often be more helpful than trying to rely on just one type of medication.

I would stick to Paracetamol and keep moving.
