still walking on crutches...
I thinks we have to remember we are all unique are bodies are different dont give urself a hard time i tryed going back to physical work and couldnt manage so i volunteer take your time you know your own pain x
i will try to be more patient. im at physio tomorrow and need to ask her when i should be off the crutches for good.
I would say that's still early days ! Ask your physio to refer you to hydrotherapy. I found it really helped after after my two new knees.
I had mine done 9months apart ....but would say that for each I was off work for 6 months (I'm a primary school teacher) then returned on light duties for the first month.
The best thing I've discovered for managing the pain levels is Boswellia Serrata...... If you follow my other posts on this site you will see details of it. It's great in helping with arthritis
Hi Molly, sorry you are still struggling to get back to normal. Maybe you should see a physio. Everybody heals differently.
Sometimes the exercises we are given, are not enough. All, bar one of the people I know, who've had knee replacements, walk fine, with no problems. Its easy for everyone to say, try and walk straight, and wear the right shoes etc, and hear this all the time.....
But the reality is... they are right. If you don't walk correctly, it can put your back and hips out. And, the knees won't heal properly. The hospital should have made sure you were able to walk ok, before releasing you. Ask to be referred for regular physio, till you are confident, you need to get on the right track. The lack of confidence, causes us not to walk correctly. Hope you get sorted soon...
Every body is different. No two people recover at the same rate you had both done your very brave. Be kind to yourself I had a knee replacement over a year ago and I have quite a lot of pain still but I believe its my fibromyalgia thats the problem. When I went for my one year check I explained that I still struggle to bend my knee and its very painful. He told me it takes a full eighteen months to completely recover so take each day as it come and you really will get there in the end. Gentle hugs.
Hi molly & maisie. Have you explained how u feel to your physio. Maybe they can give you more or different exercises. At least you have had the op. Also ask about nutrition. Hope u feel better soon.
