Hi everyone. Feeling quite deflated after my fundraising in January. I managed to raise £560 for the charity but have had nothing back since the end of January? I know the money goes straight to the charity but am unsure what to do next re my fundraising page. Please advise x Hatties photo as cuteness x x

Hi bethanylj

I’m sorry you’ve not heard anything yet, we’ll find out what happens next.

That’s an amazing amount, thank you so much, it really is appreciated :)

I hope you’re feeling ok. That is a gorgeous photo :) xx

Aww what a lovely picture of your daughter 😊

I’m sorry you haven’t heard anything from our office manager yet, it could be that somehow the money hasn’t been transferred to us yet , so our office manager doesn’t know the final amount raised etc, I’ve asked her to get in touch with you. She does juggle so many different tasks, she is basically the central contact for anyone who contacts APP

It’s such an amazing achievement and such an amazing amount of money raised!! Have you managed to keep running a bit as well, and do you enjoy it?

Huge huge thanks Bethany, the money will make such a difference.

Ellie xx

Hi Bethanylj,

I have followed your experience as fundraiser and runner with great interest.

I am not sure whether you remember when I wrote to you about my experience and how deflated I felt after my exhibition and awareness raising. I struggled physically and emotionally.

I wonder whether that is a general feeling of coming down from something which has absorbed all our energy and focus and then there is the sudden emptiness. What to do next?

...life moves on, your experiences and manifold skills will be re-used in many different forms throughout your path...

Finding calmness and inner peace is another skill and of great importance for our recovery process...just being and reflecting back on the greatness you've achieved...

Running is a form of meditation, too, - but maybe a counter-balance is as important for you, such as meditating, Yoga or "just sitting" :-)

What a wonderful and loving mum. Wishing you well. Thank you for your contribution.

I’ve also donated to APP, but didn’t receive any acknowledgement. I’m not sure if they received any payment, which is concerning. I appreciate it’s a small team, so maybe they’ve been very busy, and hope to hear something soon.

Hi Jessi_D, I’m sorry to hear you’ve not received an acknowledgement of your donation, we really do value all our supporter’s fundraising efforts. I have just sent you a private message on here - if you can confirm if the donation was via JustGiving or another site, or other method? We’re looking into this, along with Bethanylj’s fundraising as Ellie mentioned and if you can send me more details we will pick this up. Unfortunately other websites don’t always have the best interfaces for us and as a small team, this can be a challenge too. Thanks once again for your efforts, hope to hear from you soon.

Xx

Hi Bethanylj,

Awww! Love the photo! Hattie is the picture of cuteness ☺️

Wow £560 is a fantastic amount to raise, you really should be proud of yourself for doing that - Well done you, it is inspiring.

Sorry to hear you are feeling deflated, I remember you said you were struggling a bit before the run as well. As Jasa has said it might be a general feeling of coming down as you focused on this so much and suddenly it is done, maybe like post holiday blues, but on a bit of a different level obviously. Have you kept running as part of your routine or stopped it?

When I feel a like that sometimes I find it helps to have regular small things to look forward too, even just coffee with friends or maybe take Hattie to a place/class you have enjoyed together before. However if you feel constantly deflated and it doesn’t go away you could always chat with your doctor.

Sending a virtual hug and a big pat on the back for such a great achievement, I really do hope you start to feel a bit better soon xx
