Hi thank you for all your support it has really helped me. My daughter got back home on Tuesday night and receiving two phone calls a day from the hospital. She's trying so hard to be herself and is devastated and scared that she has taken this. She feels ashamed and doesn't want any of her friends or family to know. I told her she has nothing to be ashamed off and not dwell on it just take each day at a time. It will be a long time before she is back to normal. At the moment she's enjoying her baby and trying her best to be clear headed and not anxious and panicky. Her husband is so glad to have her home. Long long road ahead and I pray to god she doesn't have a relapse. Best wishes to you all and thank you so much for your kind words and support. I hope you all continue to keep well and to the granny who has travelled out to Australia I hope your daughter in law makes a speedy recover it will be so hard for when you have to return home.

So good to hear your daughter is home. Time is a massive healer. Any time either of you need a chat, I'll be here. Best wishes for the future xx

Same here. And she may well recover quicker than you think. There is definitely nothing for her to be ashamed of. These things happen to the best of us xx

Hello Drumchapel

Thank you so much for your update, I'm glad the support here has helped. Although it's very early days, your daughter has done well to be home in such a short time. Will she have a Health Visitor and CPN visiting her as well as the phone calls?

You are being a great comfort to your daughter, telling her to take things a day at a time and not feel ashamed. We had no choice when PP hit and it takes great courage to fight such an illness and find our place again. I don't think it was included in the replies to your earlier post but there's a brilliant blog, ppsoup.com which you and your daughter might find helpful to read.

It can take time to settle in at home again as there is so much going on than there was in hospital. Before I went home for good I was gradually introduced to returning, first for a few hours, then overnight and so on over a number of months. My PP was years ago and I think recovery times have improved since.

I hope your daughter continues to make steady progress. Please take care of yourself too as it can be a stressful time for everyone. We are all here to help .....

Thank you for your kind words. The hospital intensive team have came out to visit her every day and phone in the evening. So far she's doing well and trying to make sense of it all. She is in denial tho saying I hope it's not PP that I've taken. when she says that I say don't dwell on it and take a day at a time. I'll keep you all posted on how she is doing

Hello Drumchapel

Thanks for taking the time to reply. When I had PP for the second time I was mainly treated at home and had professionals visiting daily. Your daughter is doing very well communicating her thoughts, something I couldn't do for a while. Just reassuring her as you are will be a great comfort as she slowly recovers in her own time.

I'm sure your first grandchild is a joy amidst everything that has happened and slowly but surely, with good medical care and loving family support, your daughter will fully recover.

We are all with you.
