Am a first time mum, currently I theven third trimester. Have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and am really struggling with anxiety, mainly with how other people view me, crying a lot with doesn't really help. Looking for some guidance and advice.

Hi MooWeb21, congratulations on your pregnancy. I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling anxious and have had a diagnosis of gestational diabetes.

This forum is primarily used by women and families affected by postpartum psychosis, which is a severe form of mental illness after childbirth. PP can strike women without any mental health history but also is a risk for women with bipolar or other psychotic illness history. Have you had any previous mental health issues?

Anxiety can be hard to deal with and when you re pregnant too it can really magnify things. Are you getting good professional support? Perhaps your midwife can refer you for some further input. This would be helpful especially if you have any other diagnosis of a mental health illness. They may also be able to suggest further sources of support for the geatational diabetes.

I hope that you get some further support, take care. Xx
