Hi MrsN91,

Are you by yourself? It might be worth going to A and E. Is there anyone who could take you?

The forum isn't monitored all the time so if you need immediate help you could contact the Samaritans on 116 123.

Thinking of you.

Hi I’m so sorry you’re having those thoughts. That sounds really scary.

Please reach out for help and tell someone about your thoughts: a family member or friend, your doctor? As jossykate says you can go to A and E if you are really worried.

As jossykate says, do make sure you’re not alone, do you have someone who is with you? It’s really important you get help so that you get better.

Take care, it’s great you’ve reached out to us.

Ellie

Hi Mrs N - expect you may have experienced sleep deprivation with feeding baby and waking up several times at night. Sleep deprivation can lead to symptoms such as yours and as you recognise the symptoms you are right to want immediate help. Other physical problems such as an ear/throat. urinary tract infection can also affect your brain.

Out of hours number may be found by ringing your GPS number - if you can make sense of the answer phone message! Hope you can talk to a GP on the phone and get to out of hours clinic with support from friends and family. If you get an appointment take a urinary sample just in case. Take care.

Hello MrsN91

I'm so sorry to hear you have such thoughts which are all very real and frightening at the time. I hope your husband is with you now as you mentioned in your other thread that he is able to calm your thoughts. Just to add to the good advice here, you can also email Samaritans at jo@samaritans.org. Take very good care and please get help asap.

Hi MrsN91, it’s good to hear your husband has contacted the crisis team. I can imagine how scared you are feeling but it’s good to hear you are safe. Thinking of you lots, xx

Hi MrsN91

I can understand how scared you are feeling but the thoughts you had earlier are part of an illness, so it's not your fault. Hopefully the crisis team will be able to help and reassure you. Stay safe and take care.

Hope you get the help and rest you need. It's good you are getting support = it's rotten luck. Take care of yourself - you are so important.

Don’t be scared, tell the crisis team exactly how you are feeling and the thoughts you are having. They are there to help you. You’ll be ok. Sending love xx

Hello MrsN91

I hope by now you are being well supported by your care team. The episode you experienced must have been very frightening. I tried to rush to be well for my family but after suffering a setback I realised I wasn't as well as I thought.

I think you need to reach out for support and take your time. As noted in the "PP Recovery Guide for Partners" the experience of going through PP does not need to be 'done and dusted', adding that you won't be able to control how long it takes for you to get over your illness. That's what is it .... an awful illness where your thoughts are not your own and it's not your fault.

We are all here to support you. Take good care of yourself.

Hi, I've just been discharged from an acute psychiatric ward. Feeling okay, but still a bit wobbly. I do have a load of support from CMHT and family though.

Hi MrsN91

Good to hear that you have now been discharged from the ward. I think it's a great achievement returning home so you might feel a bit wobbly at first. So glad you have loads of support from your care team and family. Wrap yourself in the comfort blanket of home and take it easy. We are all here to listen if it helps at anytime.
