Hiya Amanda

Hope you soon pick up. You are not alone and I am sure you will begin to feel a bit better just knowing there are people here who understand.

I think if you want to 'change' then you have made a very good step by joining this site.

There are some brilliant people here who all understand how it is when we have so-called mental problems.

I have been through my own troubles with it . I had and still get twinges of social anxiety ...getting too self conscious when I am in crowds .

It is nowhere near as debilitating as what it used to be . Just interacting on this forum is a real blessing. Amanda, you are not alone and I hope you soon pick up.

Vince : )

This must be awful. Can I ask if you've seen a therapist/doctor since you were told 20 years ago that you had PTSD? In short: are you receiving treatment/care for this problem?

I strongly advise you to talk this over with your doctor if you have not already done so. Also with a therapist trained in treating trauma (if, indeed, the diagnosis is still PTSD and not something else).
