Though it may be hard, try to remember that medicine is to HELP you, NOT hurt you. Many many millions of people are afraid to take meds, I'm one of them. It may take me months to finally take what dr's prescribed. Once I do, and see that it helped, I ask myself "why don't I listen to dr's?"

I'm the same way. I take 1/2 the dosage and wait 15-30 mins. If I have no adverse reactions, i'll take the other 1/2 of the dosage.

How do you not overthink or have side effects because you’ve thought the demise effects up- if that makes sense x

I'm also like THAT too! I have finally realized that things are never as bad as I thought, or think, they would be. And it still usually ends up that way. Just say that to yourself.

Hi Samantha, I take propranolol 80mg slow release every day for anxiety and migraines, i started on 20mg about 15 years ago but unfortunately my gp had to keep increasing over the years as it became less effective, still helps my anxiety but not so much my migraines anymore. I’m also terrified of taking any medication and it takes me weeks to pluck up the courage, the only way I manage is to get my husband to drive me to our local a&e car park to take my 1st tablet and we sit there for a few hours as I’m scared of the side effect, this does help a lot, I know we should face our fears but there’s no other way I’d be able to do it. I used to hate explaining to people how bad my anxiety is but I’ve got to an age where I’m probably too much of an over sharer and do whatever makes life easier to get through, acceptance of the condition and not judging yourself is a big step!
