Hi. Just wondering if anyone has heartburn/reflux/indigestion. If so, do you experience shortness of breath with it?

Hi! These are my exact symptoms. Since all of this pandemic mess my anxiety has been through the roof. I haven't felt any of this in a while and I looked at my old posts up here and was quickly reminded. I remember my psychologist explained the the connection between my brain and gut so whenever I was anxious, I would have horrible burping, heartburn and shortness of breath. It all goes hand in hand. I hope you feel better and Thank you for your response. Lots of love.

Hi. Feel better! it's been a while since I felt this. I hope you feel better.

It’s the worst, especially during this pandemic. Heartburn is uncomfortable and the shortness of breath symptom causes you even more anxiety and makes you feel like you’re dying and not being able to just go to the doctor or hospital like we used to makes us feel helpless. I hope you’re feeling better now!! Take care :)

YES and its terrifying. It used to send me to the ER because for women thats one of the symptoms of heart attack. To rhos day, when my reflux acts up, my breathing changes and I panic. Feel better

I have had the same thing. I feel it in my stomach and sometimes it leads to uncomfortable heartburn. Then you feel it in your chest and its scary. I try to walk it off but you get the shortness of breathe feel and thinks it is something worse. It is important to try and sleep and eat right during these times. Allow your body to feel what it feels, but manage the symptoms of the anxiety, aches and heartburn. I just feel like my body is sort of out of control right now and I am trying to manage my thoughts and symptoms. Distractions are big help, but they have to be the right distractions. We are all in this together and just remember there is a time it will be better. However, right now it is getting worse and I think I just think about it everyday!!

Yes true indeed. I can relate. We just have to stay positive, although it is not the easiest. This is a time to help each other get through this craziness and to uplift each other! I wish you well and I'm here to chat if needed.

I am currently going through this too. I also have a lot of phlegm in my throat not sure if this is acid reflux? But the shortness of breath with indigestion is awful. What remedies helped for you? Or did it go away on it’s own?

Hi. When the acid reflux is brought on by constant anxiety, nothing seems to help. I have to really calm myself for a couple of days, meditate, relax and try to keep a sound mind. The only time I have acid reflux now is when I get worked up and can't control the anxiety.

With heartburn try not to eat big meals and chew your food well, try to reduce your intake of fats into your diet, don’t eat late into the evening as lying down can make it worse, as with most problems occupying your mind can help but not on problems that make you worry, antacid remedies help but it is better not to use them as a long term solution or cure, try to be calm and loose excess weight if you can, don’t get paranoid and if it persists seek medical help for investigation. God bless for Easter!
