so I have been doing quite well these past few months. Been going to a psychologist, work, running errands, making plans, having hobbies. Life was better.

Then one night, around 2 weeks ago, my heart started to palpitate at 120bpm. Thinking it was just anxiety, I tried to calm myself. 6 hours later, it did not go down and so I told my parents to take me to the ER. They told me I had a fever and viral gastroenteritis, I had three bags of IV fluids then I was on my way home.

This event triggered my health anxiety 😔 I've been obsessively checking my heart rate, I've been getting all these physical symptoms (sharp chest pains, bouts of high hr and palps, digestive problems, dizziness, etc).

And its made me worry about whether these symptoms are because of anxiety or its because of an actual health problem.

I hate how it feels that I'm back to square one again.

Hi. I am sorry that you had to experience that type of health scare and now it puts your mind in a constant state of worry.

I can totally relate to how you are feeling. Whenever I go through any type of illness whether it be a fever, feeling stomach aches, or going to the er from panic attacks it took me so long to recover mentally. I dwell on it forever and then cant tell the difference if I'm actually going through something or if it anxiety.

It's such a scary thing that only time will heal. Which I dont know if that's a good thing or not because it feels like forever. And then like you said, I feel like I've started back to square one with my fears and worries and no sleep and all the other things that come along with it.

I wish you well. Wish us the best
