Had CT scan of sinuses today, was a bit nervous after the nose exam on Friday (it was fine but I really, really hate medical stuff and as usual got worked up and then was completely fine the moment it was done). Climbed into scan truck, the steps were lit up like a Michael Jackson video, and saw the scan room.
Wow. It was like Star Trek. I mean really. Bright white, curved edges in the scanner, lightbox with blue sky and clouds fixed to the ceiling.
I lay on the little bed and the giant white doughnut of the scanner did its stuff and it was so relaxing I could have slept.
Why can't all medical stuff be so simple and efficient?
I found all the extreme high tech stuff v reassuring.
Will hear results by letter, though the ENT consultant said I only had slight deviated septum so prob fine. Am back on nasal spray for inflamed sinuses. Had dental checkup today as well to rule out anything tooth related, and have had earache ever since - for once literally true that it is "all in my head"..
