But do they? Surely our gut reactions to things are what matter, also thinking « out of the box »? Certainly the media/social media/culture try to influence us etc but it is ultimately up to us how and what we think and believe in?

Yes but they dont tell us the truth, they manipulate it to how they want you to think.
