It does work, takes a while to kick in, but the side effects are extreme, Bad bordering on chronic constipation. Brain fog, poor balance, dizziness Trouble with walking. And thats the mild ones. I was prescribed them and they honestly made me feel like crap. So I stopped taking them and suffered the withdrawal symptoms for about a week. My advice don't take them in the first place nasty drug!!.

My experience was also crap so the doctor weaned me off it extreme gradually because there were far too many nasty side effects, than after several months I came off it and was so glad I did come off it. I found out that I was and am better off without that nasty drug. My advice is not to even consider it in the first place and talk to your prescribing doctor about switching to an SSRI instead.

Joniblue.

I was prescribed pregabalin for nerve pain. I was on it for 9 years, slowly increasing the dose as my pain got worse.

This is just my experience I'm sure there are people with more positive but if you do decide to take Pregabalin just know that this is a hardcore medication.

It helped with my pain and allowed me to continue work for many more years than if I'd not taken it.

However, I didn't notice these side effects were caused by the pregabalin. I found sleeping very difficult once I'd reached 150mg+. I became disinhibited to a dangerous point at times making very poor decisions. It changed my entire personality.

I would say that it would help with anxiety in terms of getting out more and with social interactions. However it also gave me the feelings of anxiety at the same time. Which I didn't suffer from before.

It's a very strange medication and everyone Ive met in real life who has taken it has had negative things to say about it. If only I had spoken to these people many years ago I would have worked out what it was doing to me.

It literally turned me loopy and I went to 2yrs of therapy to work out what was wrong. I felt really stupid that I hadn't put two and two together that it was Pregabalin.

More recently I tried Duloxetine for pain (this is also used for anxiety) I started to have somewhat similar symptoms but was on a low dose and so quickly stopped.

Just started on it and it seems to make a big difference to me. I can actually do things that I would be too anxious to do without it . I am taking some lorazepam as well though, but I think the pergablin is the drug I should have been taking for the last 45 years, rather than all the anti-depressants that never really worked for me. Good luck.
