Hi everyone

Have just started taking 50mg dosage of Sertraline to help with my anxiety and depression.

The first day I had terrible nausea and vomiting. I’m only on my 4th day of taking it and it feels like back of my throat and uvula are swollen and make me want to gag all the time.

Has anyone else experienced these side effects ? I want to persevere with it but it’s difficult working etc when feel sick all the time and I am worried this may be some kind of allergic reaction ?

MCMLX, if it doesn’t feel right you should tell your doctor. I know all medications have their own side effects and we get those effects until the body adjusts to the meds. I would call the doctor and ask, or even your pharmacist (they know more about meds—lol). If you’re feeling miserable talking to your Dr might help to find a better solution. Hoping you feel better! Take care 🏝🇵🇷

Thanks MEGL53 - good advice. I will see how things go - hopefully it will settle down once I have taken more of the medication and my body has adjusted to it 👍
