Hi Hpesoj50,

I have tried MBCT.

Like all talking therapies, it takes a lot of work and a commitment to practice what you learn outside the therapy session.

I learned strategies in order to help me better understand and manage my thoughts and emotions in order to achieve relief from feelings of emotional distress and physical discomfort.

Being able to notice when my automatic depression and anxiety thinking processes are occurring and altering my reaction to be more of a reflection are important skills to have in my coping toolkit. I still carry a card in my wallet to remind me when things are stressing me out to do MBCT.

MBCT can be a stand alone therapy for some people. The MBCT was part of my overall treatment plan, combined with medication.

Thanks for your reply. It looks like MBCT is working for you. I will try to check it out since I had a relapsed even though I was taking mirtazapine. Had to change meds and it is a struggle to live day to day with this illness. Hope it will work for me.
