DecliningPlatelet levels

I have atrial fibrilation and a couple of other related issues. I started on Eliquis (anticoagulation med) in December 22. Platelet level was tested at 215 (range is 150 - 400). Re-tested since then and it has been steadily falling until October 24 was 131 and considered LOW.

Anybody had this issue with Eliquis (also known as Apixaban).

While I'm not a doctor, but I also take Apixaban, low platelet level is usually not a direct effect of the medication. Apixaban is a factor Xa inhibitor, a DOAC anticoagulant, and it generally does not have a direct impact on platelet production. That not to say it won't happen but it would be very rare. So it is unlikely to directly cause a decrease in platelet levels. There are many potential reasons for low platelets, so seeing your doctor about a complete blood count could give more details. My doctor used to order a partial blood count, but now prefer a CBC because it provides a more detailed look at what's happening.
