Has anybody taken any anti malaria medication recently? I am going to South Africa and have been advised to take medication. It seems Malarone seems to be the most effective and well tolerated. Thanks for reading.

hi yes I took malarone for a couple of years while on warfarin (was working in Africa). No issues at all, although worth remembering you can still get malaria so take other sensible precautions. It does mean you are less likely to and that it is much less likely to be bad.

Worth remembering you need to start early so you can make sure your INR has settled before traveling.

Thanks for your reply. Good to know you had no issues taking this. I will be taking my INR machine with me to test every few days. As diet and alcohol will be changing as well, so can adjust warfarin dose accordingly.
