I have recently been diagnosed, i would like to know if there is any advise there could be with Health insurance since i am on warfarin for life now,
Secondary to the this i would like to also know about the NHS medically exempt form/Card. Has any one been able to get one on this for of medication, which i have been told about as i am not retired or close to it and not on low income so will have to pay for prescriptions until either happen.

I don’t know about health insurance, it may be possible, but is likely to exclude your original health issue and anything related to taking warfarin (eg INR, bleeds). You can get travel insurance, but have to declare your condition and will most likely have to pay more.
Sadly warfarin doesn’t qualify you for a medical exemption from prescription changes. If you have a good relationship with your GP and they trust you you may be able to get them to prescribe 3 months at a time rather than monthly, which will reduce your prescription charges and thei paperwork.
Hi there, just for info, I pay for my prescription of Apixaban after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism last July, I have though managed to persuade the doctor to prescribe 2 months at a time instead of the normal 1 month which obviously halves the cost, just a thought if you have to continue to pay long term. Good luck!
