Had a phone appointment this morning with the haematology department. I am to go to 10 mg rivaroxaban (of course, have just picked up the next 8 weeks' worth, sods' law) on my next prescription, and am also to be on "patient-initiated" care - if I have issues, I contact them, rather than them ringing me every 6 months or so. So all good stuff!

That's great news! Why the change to 10? I've been on 10 since last August. How had your blood work been?

Blood work was a little worrying earlier because they thought I might have an MPN, but luckily I don't - the man I spoke to today reckoned my slightly elevated neutrophil count was just the way I am! I asked about the chronic clot, which is what had stopped them putting me down to 10 mg last year, but he said it was very small and out of the way, and that 10 mg was better at my age, balancing the risk of clotting and the risk of bleeding! Hope he was right.
