Hello everyone,
I have been put on Xarelto and Metocor for an episode of A Fib that I had in December last.
I fainted while out for lunch and this is when it was discovered that I was in A Fib.
I hadn't slept the previous night and I was fasting because I was attending a private health company for a blood test which was part of one of these complete health checks. How ironic!
Since being put on these drugs my rhythm is perfect. The fact that I hadn't slept and hadn't eaten might have contributed to this A Fib.
I'm worried in case I shouldn't be on Xarelto as my heart rhythm is fine now.
Can anyone please let me know if you have noticed small amounts of blood in your sputum when you clear your throat a few hours after taking Xarelto?
I take Xarelto with my evening dinner and I wake up with this. I am very worried about it.
I would also like to ask advice as to whether it is advisable to have a glass of wine or any alcohol while taking Xarelto.
Thanks so much for any help I receive as my cardiologist is quite evasive with advice. I wasn't told about side effects or the black box bleeding warning that was issued about Xarelto.
I read yesterday that there is an antidote available now, hopefully that's correct!
The pros and cons of taking this powerful drug should be discussed with patients I feel but I suppose nurses and doctors are very busy nowadays.
Thanks again!
