Anyone else in the same boat?

So I've been on warfarin (plus 18000u fragmin) for just over a month now, I'm currently on 11mg daily. My INR is still sitting at 1.6 (desired range is 2-3), so has actually gone down since leaving hospital despite taking a way higher dose.

Could there be underlying issues why it's not rising?

Some people just require more. Increase to 15 for a few days. And retest? Don’t worry. Good intake at home different to hospital.

I had a nightmare with warfarin I've ended up changing to rivoxaban been on it 5 years now.

Food impacts with warfarin .

Im hoping I'll finally be in range when tested on Thursday. Although not getting hopes up. Warfarin is the only thing I can take as currently breastfeeding so hoping it will not end up not working!

Do you find rivaroxaban worked ok and how long did it take to work ?

I've been on it for about 4 year now it's absolutely fine no side effects .

I get a yearly liver function blood test that's it much better than warfarin.

It took a few months to get mine within range.

Diet does affect the inr but the best advice I was given was to dose the diet, not diet the dose (as a vegetarian there was no way I was giving anything up... Broccoli, spinach, chickpeas and Stilton just sound like a lovely meal to me).

I suspect the added issue of lactating may be another complication, but great to hear you are breastfeeding. Good luck!
