Hi and thank you for the add, I’m in a bit of shock.
My ankle has been sore but my gp thought it was a result of Plantar Fasciitis. Over the last few days it’s gotten a lot worse & I thought as I’d be at the walk in centre with my friend anyway I’d just get it looked at. The dr told me it was cellulitis gave me ABs and to go to a&e if the redness went outside of the lines she drew on my leg.
The redness did spread yesterday evening so I went to a&e because my friend convinced me to. I was going to wait a few days for the antibiotics to kick in.
The dr was not convinced it was cellulitis and did a blood test. My infection markers were normal but my blood clot levels are very high! They suspect it is DVT!! They think it’s caused by my pill (Microgonyn) because of my weight.
I had a blood thinning injection, I have to go back to a&e this evening (Bank Holiday Monday) for another injection and will get a call from the DVT team in Tuesday!!! I’m glad I went to a&e to get it checked!!!
I had a heparin injection at a and e when I went there in December just before I had a ct scan when my pe was diagnosed and they kept me in hospital overnight.
I suspect I had a dvt in my calf vein as I had been getting leg cramps but hadn't thought anything of it and then shortness of breath and I had thought I was becoming unfit and needed to go on a diet but no I wasn't unfit I was ill!
It all came to a head when I couldn't breathe one morning and I had dragged myself into a and e as I was frightened and to be fair the staff there were very nice.
