Hematologist wants me to stop xarelto for 3 weeks to take blood test

I'm on xarelto hematologist wants me to stop it for 3 weeks then blood test to make sure that my dvt happen only because I had to stay in bed having pneumonia  he think   that is what happened but clot still there after 4 month I afraid to stop it before clot go away

Gosh if it were me. I would get a second opinion as soon as possible, like today

Worth asking what the risk vs benefits are ? I'm staying on warfarin because my blood clot is on my brain and I don't want to take any risks. Scans may show its "still there" (as recently explained by neuro team) but shouldn't get worse when on anticoagulant. ......almost don't care why I got it.... as a few simple things already ruled out but other tests would require coming off warfarin.....would prefer to keep safe.

Ya that is pretty scary a second opinion couldn't hurt...don't just do it cause one doctor says to if you are feeling reservations about it.  Wishing you all the best...
