Have you had DVT before? If so it could be post thrombotic syndrome I have this pain from the pelvis to the calf very painful but it can any part of the leg that you have had the DVT, time to ask your doc
I assume it was an ultrasound? Even a skilled operator will only pick up around 70% of clots, this added to the fact that D-dimer can stay in your system for a while after the clot is no longer visible could mean the clot has gone/ moved or was too small to see. Either way keep an eye on the symptoms and if they persist go back for another scan. The Clexane will help but it stops clots forming rather than breaking them down, so don't be afraid to go back.
i am not a medic but as it was explained to me the test is inconclusive so if it is negative you may still have a dvt, This was the case with my husband 2 weeks ago. If it is positive its not a certainty only the scan is a difinative. If you are a high risk person and have a negative test they will usually scan to be sure.
Thanks guys! Yes I've had 3 dvt's, 2 in the leg that is bothering me in 2013 and 1 in my other leg in 2006. Maybe it is PTS and I've panicked over nothing? The pain is top of my calf, behind my knee when I'm sat with my legs bent and standing. No swelling I only noticed on Friday
