Androgenetic alopecia

Hi there! I have just joined this group. I am in many ways fit, healthy and active - love walking, wild swimming, those kinds of things. The hair on the top of my head became thin when I was in my twenties and has become worse, including a receding hair line. But at the moment I do not generally wear any kind of hair piece. But I am very conscious of it and hate having photos taken without a hat on. I do my best not to look in mirrors. I would like to do something to improve my looks and increase my confidence. Perhaps this is very vain of me, I'm not sure. I'm very lucky, I know. I do have some hair.

Not many people come on here

Loads groups on facebook ...alopecia uk

Female hairloss and thinning are two.

Loads people post on there.

They are closed groups as well so only members read. Ive seen 6 or 7 groups on there all different.

Hope you find some help.

Thought this would have been more popular as seems to be a quite common thing!

Hi Alt-Mhor I empathise with you although I may be a little sad that I can not do all the sporty things you can ☹️but as you do not give your age you may be much younger.First have you been to your G.P.and had blood tests for iron and thyroid as lake of these can be a cause . Do you take any vitamins like biotin

and iron .these are a place to start .I read yesterday that two thirds of over 60s have thin hair ..Good Luck

Hi Kittkat2 yes I am still using the 5% regained I didn't really lose and if you mean when you start using it perhaps just a few more hairs when I brushed it . I am thin on top and the hair line the rest is thick .no more has happened .I just used it at the sides of my temples to start with in case I was allergic to it that was in May four months ago .I have new growth there and on the hair line . None on the top yet but only three month there .I use hair fibres and or root cover sometime on the top and it looks fine .I am carrying on with it .
