It may be best to arrange an appointment with a dermatologist to get a definitive diagnosis. I am an older female and put my thining hair down to family trait, age and medications. I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition on the scalp and given a prescription to help. I also was recommended to use 5% Minoxidil which is available in most pharmacies, a bit expensive. Initially there is some shedding but then hopefully new growth comes.
hope this is helpful to you in deciding what to do. maybe someone with more experience will come along soon to help.
Hi tommycarter94..... I have scarring Alopecia which was secondary to the discoid Lupus I have. I had a burning sensation on my head & I knew wasn’t right so the doctor sent me to a dermatologist & I had the treatment from there.
Definitely go to your GP & get it checked out 1st .... unfortunately my type of Alopecia doesn’t grow back so i can’t advise on anything to try to help it grow back.
Fingers crossed you get the answer from your doctor 👍🏻
No mine started on the top of my head near the crown. Touch wood I haven’t had anymore burning sensation so no more loss for over 3 years now & they’ve taken me off my hydroxichloriquine also x
