Hi

I have recently started to lose clumps of hair around the crown and sides my doctor says it’s stress! And no treatment given ! I have undergone hypnotherapy which has cleared a lot of problems that I was unaare of for my past which has been amazing . I have a great family but I know I need to relax but I go into total fear looking at the patches and would love to talk to people feeling the same and how they cope

Hi Hoppygirl. It may be of help to to you to think about taking some good multivitamins because you may be lacking in certain types such as the BVits and even iron. The BVits will help with the stress issue if this has been the case. With hair loss it is a viscious circle. A person can be stressed so they may lose some hair and then there is hair loss in itself which can cause a person to feel stressed. I think if stress is indeed the cause you should see the difference in your hair once you have been able to solve those issues. Relaxing more can certainly help. Think about trying meditation and mindfulness. If your issues are much deeper there are some great therapists out there. If you however continue to lose hair as you have been describing, your doctor should offer you more help at least to see a skin specialist because you may indeed have alopecia of some form. It would help determine this. I don`t think a lot of doctors quite understand a person with hairloss and don`t always see it as a problem. If you don`t get any satisfaction from your own doctor do think about seeing another. There are also people out there who work privately who can help with hair issues. Try and see that you are not alone in your hairloss. Everyone can certainly sympathise here. And also the other issues you`ve been experiencing in life try and see them as a part of growing up. Bad times don`t last forever usually. Last of all learn to be kinder to yourself because you are worth it. Take care and God bless. x
