tachy and v short afib in post ablation period

I had a PFAlation five months ago, and my heart was doing well until recently, post holiday. My QofL ( actually complicated since I am also recovering from pneumonia, a collapsed lung, resulting fluid in chest and a thoracentesis )as far as afib is concerned has been significantly improved. No long or uncomfortable runs of afib. No longer take rhythm medication, dofetilide, thankfully. Only low dose propranolol and eliquis.

But past few weeks I am having spikes of heart rate and occasionally it becomes a short afib event. I can tell and my apple watch confirms, but they are very short, minutes or less. Today 3 so far with little to no exercise or obvious reason. I have had more excitement around holidays and houseguests, but good sleep and help. Should I just write this off to still healing or mid winter dehydration ( very cold here this past month)? Anyone?

My only advice would be to definitely keep hydrated. I use rehydration capsules alongside plain tap water. I try to drink 2-2.5 L per day. I notice if I don't I get ectopics.Hope this helps 🙏

As you stated there is a lot going on that could give rise to your symptoms and if you are concerned you should have it checked out by a physician. I would caution against relying on Apple watch as it is good as a warning device but poor as a diagnostic tool.
