As we try to explain in our fact sheet on recovery the three month "blanking period" is highly arbitrary and flexible and must be considered a minimum time . Many people are still improving at nine months or a year. I seem to recall the latest NICE guidelines on ablation mention two years.
I have felt aches in my heart area after ablations both times i had the procedure, I think it is pretty normal! Your heart has been stressed, but know that it IS healing, and those aches should go away with time! I really think several weeks is needed at least to get truly "back to normal"... although getting back to work etc can be done much shorter times of course like they say. Good luck you;re getting there!
Thank you for your lovely reply.Im about 60 days in and feel very well.Ive been taking it steady. The heart ache doesn't stay around for long, about a 1 out of 10 pain ratio.would you say this is normal to expect.Kind regards Andrew
All I can say is it was normal for me! Very small parts of your heart were burned so the heart is just healing, and some aches were expected/normal for me and many others have said the same.
