Just interested in how long people have been waiting for their ablation.Have been booked in for a pulmonary vein ablation and been advised that the waiting list is 3-4mths . I live in the Westmidlands . I thought this was quite good and was interested in other peoples experience

Sounds quite good to me. Most hospitals have a max waiting time after which they get fined I understand.

I waited 8 months for an ablation in Blackpool and last time I was there the list was a year long.

I was told the waiting list for the Leeds area would be around 3 months and it was roughly that. If you're not already on an anticoagulant try to get booked in asap. I was waiting for an age to start warfarin and after quite a few weeks of chasing I managed to start it 6 weeks prior to my ablation. Fortunately (For me), I was in range relatively quickly and had no issues with my INR level.

I waited 3 months in London. However I was offered a cancellation much earlier but was away. Also very short notice. I think they rang on Friday asking if I could come in Monday. I had to say no. Interestingly, I asked how they could offer this bearing in mind my INR had to be in range for 4 consecutive weeks and they said it would not be a problem!

For Warfarin clinic at hospital here in Hertfordshire it was next day after referral by GP. As I was already on Apixaban and as it was just before Christmas it was decided on both sides that it would be easier to start the Warfarin after Christmas because of the need to test twice or three times a week.

For the ablation for a major London Hospital it appears to be three months (I will know better tomorrow after appointment).
