Hello again,

I need your help regarding the frequent PVC (premature ventricular contraction) episodes. Recently, I have been experiencing significant shortness of breath and frequent PVCs, about 8,000 per day. I am currently on Propafenone 3x150 mg and Bisoprolol 1.25 mg, and I am on the 5th day of this treatment. My previous medication was Flecainide 100 mg, 150 mg per day (morning and evening), but in the past few days, I’ve had many episodes of shortness of breath. The result of my Holter monitoring was as follows:

VE (Ventricular Events)

Isolated: 138

Couplets: 254

V Runs: 8,819 (9.6%)

SVE (Supraventricular Events)

Isolated: 0

Couplets: 1 (<0.1%)

SV Runs: Bigeminy, Trigeminy

ST Event

ST Depression

CH1: 2 episodes, max -0.14mV at 04.12 17:19:48

CH2: 57 episodes, max -0.56mV at 04.12 20:29:35

ST Elevation

CH1, CH2, CH3

I need to know how long this shortness of breath might last, especially since the Propafenone medication doesn’t seem to be improving my condition

My only comment is thaat propafanone has its own beta bloccking function so why the bisoprolol? This can cause breathlessness.

My money would be in the Bisoprolol for shortage of breath.

It takes my system up to 3 months to settle with a change of drugs. Beta blockers especially.
