Beautiful 😽 There is a book about a cat who lived in a nursing home and he seemed to know when people were in their last hours and would appear in their rooms and keep them company. One day he was quite distressed because two people were dying at the same time.
Probably just as well. One of our cats lies next to me in bed when I'm not well. She won't leave me, even for food, unless she needs the loo. Very perceptive little souls.
We have a heavy bed frame under which we cannot get access. One wrong move or suspicious look on "trip to the vet" day, and the cat was under the frame. We had to cancel a few times.
I can totally agree with your words there, and Buffafly too. Ours picks up on our moves, going away for a few days - say for a wedding - and she disappears to the most inaccessible part of 'under the bed' ( similar to yours) and we just have had to leave out battery driven, timer activated food trays with lids and litter trays for her .......... 🐱🐱. Yet going shopping or to GP, or just a day out and she is fine.
Our cats always climbed into the suitcase when we left it open to pack. It was either: "You are going nowhere!" or "I'm coming along!" I was never sure which.
I still miss my lovely cat, Calico, who died many years ago. She would always know when I was unwell or otherwise needed support and would come and lie beside me and be a great comfort. She was also a great judge of character and only approached and sat on the laps of nice people!
I don't post anything anymore but I try to read the posts. My ex who I live with has dementia now and I'm having a hard time getting him into a facility where he can get the care he needs. It's been hard. To top it off, his cat, Whitey, slipped out the front door a few days ago. I've gone around to the neighbors and will have an ad in the local newspaper. I can't do social media like Facebook on my cheap cell phone, but I ran into the owner of a pet store where we live and she put it on her Facebook. I am just broken hearted. I cry til I don't think I can cry anymore but the tears won't stop. How does one explain to someone who has dementia that his baby is missing?? Unless Whitey is found it's not going to be a merry Xmas or happy new year. Please those of you who do, pray that Whitey is found. We also just had our little tabby girl pass away a month ago. Now we have our tuxedo left and he's mourning for the others.😢 Aside from all that's going on with me, I still wish all of you here a wonderful holiday season.
I've had 26 cats at one time (all feral) now down to one about 16 years old with problems like I have, and I know exactly how you felt when it came and laid down beside you. I can tell you he's one of the best friends I have ever had, knows how to comfort you and is truly loyal. I hope you and your cat start being best friends and sharing each other's company. Wonderful poem. Have a Blessed night and say Hi to your new buddy for me.
Oh that is lovely! Many times when I had bad AF attacks and would go downstairs to sit in my chair my little cat Lily would come on my lap and make the little chirping meows a mother cat does to her kittens.
Interesting.. my tortie female came by me in kitchen one night I had afib and stayed right with me the entire time. I know she knew zi felt bad and being there for me was the best ! They sense more than think they do.
