Atrial tach.

Hello you lot, in bed early and fed up, I’ve been having a few little runs of fast heart rate since getting Covid in September, then Thursday I felt rubbish and had caught norovirus, on Saturday night at 1930 my heart started racing, I thought it was afib but when the paramedics arrived they said it was atrial tach. Left me wiped out today, went to hospital and my bloods are all fine, I’ve had a year of alot of nasties and I wonder if this was just that all coming out. I went back in to sinus as soon as the paramedics arrived at 2030. I’m not sure what I’m looking to get out of this post, the atrial tach was at 180, I had not long put my 72hr tape on from the Brompton , so I guess, at least for once a holter has caught arrhythmia and my self conversion to sinus 👌🏻 I was hoping for a quiet lead up to Christmas this year as I had a pvc ablation this time last year, happy Christmas you lot 🎅🏻

The fact your heart settled once the paramedics arrived points a possible finger at anxiety worsening matters, perhaps? I found with my worst AF episode, that the sight of the specialist and his comforting words began to settle me and my heart.

Covid can affect the heart as you have found. Have you had any imaging since the infection?

Anxiety never helps does it, I’ve had a year of it that’s for sure. I’ve had no imaging done since Covid.

If you think covid brought it on, I’d push for an echo, maybe?

I think it was more dehydration from the sickness bug, I need my beta blockers upped possibly.
