I had one and it was the the caffeine prohibition and no eating for 2 hours (I think) beforehand.

I was about to have my MRI and said I've got time for an early lunch.

The Radiologist stopped me. She said pease wait until after your MRI.

Drink water.

She had biscuits and a cuppa after though.

i think it was no caffeine for 12 hours - just r checked my letter - can eat normally as long as no caffeine in it. Advice was to drink water or juice.

I don't recall fasting at all except no caffeine in drinks was allowed at all for some hours beforehand. It will be on your hospital letter for sure if so. If they do a stress test, be prepared for a few moments discomfort and feeling pretty weird but it passes quickly.

Well I had my profusion MRI today. You were right you do have some moments of discomfort. I still feel a bit uncomfortable in my chest. Did you ?

Oh yes - much as I feel after an AF episode - a kind of chest ache. I have to be honest and say that in my post i seriously underplayed how bad - and afraid - that injection made me feel!

Thanks for underplaying it . I would have worried more.

Thankfully, it was very short lived but intense. The first one I had was much less noticeable, strangely and that was 5 years back. How was yours - in all honesty? 😉

I don't want to do it again. I felt funny in my head ,chest and back when the medicine went in but she said I would and not to worry. My heart rate took some breathing to get it to go back. But I felt funny on the way home at the station when I climbed up some stairs heart rate went up and I felt weird. This morning feel like a punch just below my chest it might be where you have to do all that breathing in and out and holding your breath. An hour in the scanner doing that you might tighten up and not realise you are so see how it goes. I was completely exhausted when we got home , had to be up early to get the train worried about the journey getting underground didn't sleep the night before it all adds up. But glad it's behind me.

Yes - not pleasant at all. I hope the results give you the all clear! It's the "gold standard" scan type apparently.

I had a profusion MRI yesterday. No caffeine for 24 hours prior to test and no food for 6 hours. I experienced no discomfort during the stress test.
