I have a pacemaker, a watchman and have had one ablation. I am told that then ablation was not successful and that I am. now in persistent Afib. While I am mostly asymptomatic, I do worry about it getting worse and am considering an Hybrid Convergent procedure. Has anyone had this done and if so what were the results? Many thanks.

Hybrid Convergent Procedure
Where in the world do you live?
Here in the UK it is possible but not common, I think several hospitals do offer it for younger, fitter people in persistent AF. I believe several members flew out to Japan to have it done and it is available in US but I imagine at a cost way beyond what most of us could afford.
If you are considered a good candidate, I think it has good outcomes though not sure if anyone has had it done with a pacemaker?
can o ask why hybrid convergent rather than mini maze? Do you have another arrhythmia which has led to this approach being recommended?
The most common mini maze in the US is with Dr Wolf in Houston. There is a patient Facebook page you may find interesting.
I tried to get in touch with Dr. Wolf and got a response with a form that I completed and returned. Never heard from them again.
