I’m doing good, albeit I could still do with losing a few more pounds. Three months ago I injured my right shoulder and it’s really bothering me, I have been doing PT and exercises but my range of motion is still limited.
I have an appointment next week to see a pain management Dr who also does acupuncture. I have not had acupuncture in years, so just wondering if anyone had any issues with AFib and acupuncture, my other alternative is to start hanging from bars as seemingly hanging is very good for shoulder pain

Yes I've been having acupuncture for my AF and general depletion of energy over the last year and it's been really helpful. The important question is whether your GP is experienced in acupuncture or just beginning with it. Not sure how you could find that out ..
This research shows acupuncture to be as effective as Amoiodarone for PAF:
I may be wrong but it seems unlikely there will be any follow up since large scale trials are generally funded by pharmaceutical companies. And in a way it's quite revealing that there hasn't been a follow up, given the result of the comparison between amiodarone and acupuncture was so positive for acupuncture ...
I’ve also been having acupuncture for the past two months and it’s making me feel loads better. Sleep and digestion greatly improved already and🤞🤞🤞no AF for nearly a month now
I have had acupuncture with AF and it works very well in alleviating the effects of AF.
It is good that your pain management doctor has knowledge of acupuncture but you should check that they have done training to degree standard otherwise they will only have received the basic minimum of hours training with little or no knowledge of Chinese medicine. A fully qualified acupuncturist has a vast knowledge of Chinese medicine and has studied for 3.5 to 4 years to attain their qualification. They also have to achieve many hours of CPD each year to continue to practice.
It is not uncommon for practitioners in other modalities, such as nurses, doctors, physiotherapists etc to undertake the ‘add on’ training of acupuncture over a few weeks.
I can’t take NSAIDS, and I woke up this morning to really bad pain
I’ ve had 10 sessions of PT I do my exercises and no improvement, that’s why I followed up with a pain management Dr but o have to wait until October 28th to see him
I have acupuncture from my chiropractoe for knee and back pain. Agree with other replies, that, sometimes GPs do a weekend course.I suppose you could ask practice manager how long the GP has been offering acupuncture?
You could try the British Acupuncture Council and see if your GP is registered there. I think their members are professional traditional acupuncturists who have done the 3 year course etc.
