Hi all.

Does anyone have experience of taking the supplements Ashwanghanda or Lion's Mane when on Apixaban?

Thanks, Mike.

I have been taking lions mane with warfarin and apparently my INR has dropped slightly so for the first time in several years I am slightly under range. That said I did miss a dose last week.

Thanks for your reply Bob. Will you continue to take the Lion's Mane? An osteopath has suggested that I might benefit from Lion's Mane or possibly Ashwagandha.

I was advised by a functional medicine doctor who is also a GP not to take Lions mane and to be careful with Ashwaghanda. I am also on apixaban.

Thanks Offcut. Yes, as that and other sites say 'There's not enough information to say that other herbal remedies and supplements are safe to take with apixaban.' I thought I would ask if anyone here had any experience themselves. I know each person is different and that what might be ok for one person might be detrimental to another. You take a chance or you don't I suppose.

That is always the problem? I was on Omeprazole for many years with no issues then all of a sudden, I was getting pins and needles in my face and arms then in the end the whole upper torso! I called 111 and they sent an ambulance and I was admitted for tests Etc. It turned out the Omeprazole was the problem I had to have 2 infusions one for Calcium and One for Magnesium. Each took over 4 hours! I mentioned this to my nurse at the GP practice for you to say her Husband had a seizure and that was also blamed on Omeprazole?
