twelve days post ablation and I have been back in hospital for four days with a bit of stubborn pneumonia w fluid in lungs. Care is great. Facilities lovely and comfortable, but I am weak and ready to feel well, please.

no one seems surprised that I got pneumonia from breathing tube during procedure. Anyone relate?

What! How on earth did you get pneumonia from a tube during your ablation? Is this truly what you've been told Polly? I'm horrified I can tell you and I've certainly never heard of that happening before. Are you coughing a lot?

Bless you, I hope you soon feel lots better.

Take care, will be thinking of you and waiting to hear how you get on.

Jean xx

Yes Jean. My EP confirmed, it does happen. You can google it as well. I had no idea ! Not fun, as I write from my hospital room, coming up on day 13 post ablation. Recovery from pneumonia likely will be at least as long as the ablation.

The good news is no sign of heart issues and no heart pain. Hoping for good news on lungs and infection levels tomorrow so I can get off IV and go home. Must admit, positive as I am, this was not on my dance card. 😑🤔Thanks for the note. P

Hi, I had pneumonia few weeks after pace and ablate, hospitalized but was out after a few days, never had a breathing tube though.

I had cryoablation three months ago. No problem except left hospital with an upper respiratory tract infection, wheezes and crackles. It responded to antibiotics and thankfully didn't progress to anything worse. Where did it come from? The breathing tube and breathing support during procedure has to be implicated somewhere.

to quote my EP “ sometimes people get pneumonia from being on the breathing machine “. Who knew. Praying today enough improves that I can go home with oral meds.

OMG. What an awful thing to happen after all you have been through. Hope you will soon be well enough to go home and, when you do, lots of TLC rest and care. Pneumonia is debilitating enough on its own, but good to hear the ablation went well and your heart is quiet. Really wishing you well. 🥰

yes ablation feels like a non issue just 13 days out. I’m sure I will be recovering from pneumonia longer 🤨

Thank goodness your ablation is not an issue. My daughter had pneumonia (not after ablation) and she was very tired afterwards, so lots of rest, good food and if possible no stress. Mask on when you go out as your immune system will need building up. Take care xxx

Thank you. Yes dr says long slow heal. But today the signs have all shifted in good direction. And yes amazing recovery from ablation. Zero discomfort and NSR🎊🙏
