Having a senior moment.

Within the last few months, maybe longer, I have seen a couple of posts where people have been in Afib and experienced a sudden feeling of not being well or odd feelings for a few seconds as the heart converts/changes back to NSR.

I cannot for the life of me find these posts and have exhausted all ways and terminology in the search bar but nothing found.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to help me locate them please?

Many thanks

Frances

Why do you want to find them? I can summarise that sometimes the heart pauses before setting off again in NSR after converting. If it’s brief it causes a disconcerting feeling. If it’s too long it causes pre syncope (feeling you are about to pass out) or fainting. I can tell you from experience that the too long pause is very scary. The usual treatment if it happens regularly is a pacemaker.

Hope that helps.

Not sure how to redirect you but I can share my experience. Doesn't happen nowadays as I'm mostly very stable post ablation but u used to get a conversion pause occasionally when I took a higher dose of Flecainide. It's a very weird feeling - like somebody pushing the clock hands in the opposite direction - only in your head! You can also feel faint, sweaty and have the room spinning. Fortunately it's only ever bern a very short pause in my case - but scary. Once, I was checking on my Kardiamobile and my.husband saw a long pause, like a flatline, and then it popped into NSR. That's when we guessed what it was. I checked with others on here who reported similarly and i felt reassured. Long pauses are not a good thing, so worth taking advice if you think yours are like that.

Just a warning that if you Google 'conversion pause' you might frighten yourself. Chat to your GP if you're worried
