has anyone had an EMG and if so did it trigger Afib? The doctor says it shouldn’t, but my first episode was the day after TENS on my feet at physical therapy…
Thanks!

I had some EMG testing not long ago on a lower leg because of post-polio issues, but it had no effect on my paroxysmal AF.
I assume we are talking of Electro Myography. I have permanent, though asymptomatic AF, after 20+ years of paroxysmal AF. Four years ago I slipped going downstairs and ended up with a non-displaced fracture of my right fibula, plus various cuts and bruises. As the bone healed, it became clear that my right peroneal nerve had been damaged. I had a nerve conduction study done of that nerve and was offered an EMG. It was stressed that because I was taking an anticoagulant, it could lead to compartment bleeding, which would need emergency treatment. I chose to have EMG. It had no effect on my AF, and did not trigger compartment bleeding.A couple of months later, having moved 80 miles back home, I had another nerve conduction study at a different hospital. There the doctor said he would not give me an EMG because I took an anticoagulant.
I have Foot drop of my right foot
