I am on my second AC Edoxaban. I tried Rivaroxaban and got too much bloating stomach and lower abdo pain. Even after stopping it the pain took a long time to settle. The cardiac nurse didn't think it was the AC causing it as the symptoms didn't subside straight away but she agreed to let me try Edoxaban. A week after taking this i experienced worse bloating again and lower abdo pain. Has anyone else had these symptoms with these drugs, i mean the lower abdo pain as well as the stomach bloating? I'm still taking it for now but not sure if i will stay on it.

Anticoagulants
Fortunately there are still other anticoagulants you can try. Speak to your GP if your problem persists.
I couldn’t tolerate Apixaban or Riveroxaban had pains in back after 2 weeks with both so back to Warfarin and Ok (6 years) on
I was started on Edoxaban which made me really ill waking up at night with horrendous pain in my back & shoulders & made me feel so bad & groggy & my legs felt like lead . My GP put me on Apixaban but this gave me terrible night terrors, so changed to Riveroxaban but couldn't tolerate this either as the back pain came Back. So Doctor has now currently put me on Dabigatron which seems the best of a bad bunch with the least side effects, although I always feel better if I accidentally miss a dose as they make me feel so fatigued! Doctor is not keen to put me on warfarin so trying to persevere with the Dabigatron
Thankyou for your replies. Seems it's just trial and error but it's awful suffering the side effects in the meantime. Also I find it's not always easy getting things changed if need be.
Just persevere & keep going back to your GP if you need to as I was told it wasn't the ACs that were causing the issues as they were not common side effects I told him everyone is different & refused to take them which then sent the GP into blind panic due to the risks of CVA so then he was willing to make changes to medication to find the right AC so keep pushing
I think the Edoxaban is the worst one of them all to be fair that really knocked me about! It's ok for GPs & the cardiologists not being happy but at the end of the day we are not gonna take something that's gonna make us feel worse
