I have my ablation date set and 2 weeks later I have a colonoscopy booked. I normally don't do we'll with the anesthesia and was wondering if 2 weeks between the two procedures is long enough. Thanks for your feedback.

Depending on the reason for it, I would ask the doctor about delaying the colonoscopy as it can be, on occasion, (as mine last one was...) very painful from colonic spasm.

I hear you on that, I woke up from the sleepy juice while the procedure was still in progress.

I’ve had a few - all without sedation and all “okay”. Last March… it taught me to take the sedation in future!

As Ppiman states, definitely delay the colonoscopy.

Has your cardiologist and gastroentologist coordinated between themselves for the colonoscopy ? Very important they do for anesthesia and anticoagulant decisions.

(pardon the bold, just wanted to emphasize)

I was able to get in touch with the AFib clinic and they advised to postpone if the colonoscopy Dr. wants me to stop taking my blood thinner. They said I must stay on the blood thinner for a minimum of 4 weeks after the ablation. I've been waiting 2 years and 10 months for the ablation so it was an easy decision to postpone the colonoscopy. No worries about the bold text😀
