Dear all.......want to relay my story to you all. In January I had an AFib ablation. I felt dreadful later very quickly and it was soon found that the combination of the ablation together with flecainide had given me AFlutter. 2 weeks ago I had a 6.5 hour ablation for my typical and atypical AFlutter. I had 5 lines of Flutter ablated and a pulmonary vein touch up from January. In the 2 weeks since the ablation I have gone back into AFib on 6 of the 13 days. I am terrified that after all the angst, worry and expense this second ablation will fail as well and then I am left right back at the start. Thanks for reading this. I am from Sydney Australia.

Ablation failure?
It is far too early for pessimism! If you look at pinned posts you will see a link to our fact sheet on recovery which will tell you that it take three to six month at least for recovery adn it may well be a year before you stop improving.
To save you searching here is a direct link:- heartrhythmalliance.org/res...
Important that you follow BobD’s advice. You need to understand that it takes many weeks for the tissue within your heart to heal and thereby prevent the rogue impulses which cause the arrhythmia. Anxiety does not help either so please try and relax......easy to say I know 😉
I understand your stress, I felt the same w every wobble after ablation. As others have said, it takes a while for things to settle down. But do call your doctor’s office to get reassurance from them.
Don’t give up yet it is far to early to draw conclusions and to assume failure.
Listen to Bob’s sage advice.

Hello fellow Sydneysider,
You are not alone, such was my case too.
Please do not give up. Give it more time. Then, if the AF persists, explore other options

I had an ablation one year ago and only now I can say that's over. Give it time, it needs to heal.
I was convinced after three months mine had failed, a further six months on it had solved the issue completely. I do have occasional eptopics mainly due to physical or mental stress but these are maybe monthly for an hour or two and don’t feel as bad. It is very easy to mistake eptopics for AF. Stick with it and good luck.
Take your time in recovery. Mine was quick and easy. Others can be slower and scarier. Don’t give up hope!
Hang on you are in the first two weeks after an extensive ablation.
what meds are you taking? Flecainide did not work for me but Propafenone did.
How frequent or persistent was your Afib prior to the ablation?
We are all saying the same thing. It is .much too early to tell. Some may not agree (doctors wouldn’t necessarily agree) but in my case months went by my after my ablation before I saw improvement . Sadly for me it didn’t completely take care of my afib.
It continues, but not quite as noticeable.
Also, Flecainide did not help me , only made me feel worse.
Do any or everything you can to relax during this healing time. I think someone said on this forum, after an ablation think how long it takes for bruise to disappear . It will take time for your heart to recoup after your ablation. Best to you!
