Colonoscopy

Due to have in next few weeks has anyone else had this whilst taking Apixaban ? He did say I might have to stop for 2 days before

Clinicians will always want anticoagulants stopped for 48hrs, as i understand it from my own experience, as with any invasive/internal investigation will carry a risk of bleeding.

Look at some recent posts. It is not always necessary to stop an anticoagulant. Not sure whether person was on a NOAC or warfarin. If you can persuade them to allow you to continue uninterrupted that in my view is preferable though I am not medically qualified.

He did say that he had done when patients on Warfrin but he will check to see what it says about NOAC

I had a colonoscopy a couple of months ago. I had to stop taking my Apixaban 3 days before the procedure.
