just a question, is it okay to fly while taking Apixaban? This maybe a silly question.
flying and apixaban: just a question... - Atrial Fibrillati...
flying and apixaban
Definitely ok. I’ve flown Australia to New Zeland and back, Australia to France (about 22 hrs flying time/transit in total to Europe from Oz!) and Italy to Australia and I fly out today to China and I’m on apixaban. Saw my Dr yesterday and she wished me safe travels. All my meds are fine with international flights and so are my cardiac conditions.
No reason not to. I flew multiple times since on apixaban. All good.
Currently in Portugal, arrived here from Buenos Aires - been on Apixaban for 8 years.
I flew to Hong Kong in January. I did check with my GP but all was fine....and HK was amazing! Enjoy!

Yes it's fine no problems whatsoever.
I flew internationally long and short flights for 13 years with Afib. Having taken my anticoagulant - I saw myself as the safest passenger on the airplane! Enjoy your trip !
You will be fine. We have been doing it forr years warfarin for one "pixyban" for me. No questionwhich is a concern is ever a silly question btw
I’ve done many long haul flights and no problem, especially helpful with danger of DVTs on long haul flights, I used to take an aspirin as a precaution and apixaban much safer
yes I’ve done five long haul flights .
Actually when u think about it it helps stop clots so that’s good for flights. If you are doing a ling flight don’t forget to work out the timings
