I’ve taken the above for about 5 years without any problems. I started when our local pharmacist recommended the combination as she took it. Strangely, they weren’t selling the Co q10 so there was nothing in it for her financially.

apixaban and Co q10
I realised recently that CoQ10 was making the joints of my body sore. Stopped taking it and have been fine. Probably only took it for 5 months in total.

It is one of the common side effects if taking CoQ10 with blood thinners and anticoagulants/ antiplatelets. It's slow to show it's head but the interaction between medication and supplement shows it's ugly head over time as the medication isn't metabolised as effectively and builds up in the blood stream .
Medical professionals recommend you top up your CoQ10 from foods instead like oily fish. Grains and things like liver.
I was advised only to add CoQ10 blood test to my bloodwork last August and levels were very low. It’s important to get this done with any supplement. If your high in something then maybe your body is getting it naturally I’ll be retesting this August to see where they’re at. As we age CoQ10 levels reduce in our bodies. Who knows if this low level is what makes people get AF more frequently as we get into our 50’s and 60’s
I read that they recommend COQ10, if you take Statins, as it can decrease the levels of coenzyme q10 and taking these supplements, may treat the muscle side effects from statins. I’ve been taking them since I was started on Statins. I don’t have any problems with it.
